We are excited to announce that Renée Hunter, our General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Head of People Operations, has been elected to Kantara Initiative’s Board of Directors.

Kantara Initiative is a global community of identity experts that works to inform and shape the future of digital identity. It supports thought leadership through its global membership and multiple work groups. It also has a network of specialist auditors who assess conformance against the most rigorous standards in the identity industry, including NIST 800-636-3, and the UK government’s Digital Identity & Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF).

We are also proud to announce that Yehoshua Silberstein, Senior Counsel, Product Compliance R&D, has been appointed to serve as the Chair of Kantara's Identity Assurance Working Group (IAWG). The IAWG is a collaborative forum of industry experts focused on advancing the Kantara Identity Assurance Framework (IAF) and supporting the organization’s assurance and governance programs. Through its work, the IAWG promotes interoperability, conformance, and trust across digital identity ecosystems.

These appointments reflect Proof’s ongoing commitment to advancing industry standards that ensure secure, private, and trustworthy online transactions. As identity becomes increasingly critical to the global economy, we're proud to contribute our expertise to benefit the wider identity ecosystem.

“We are delighted to have Renee Hunter join our Board of Directors, She has an extensive career leading legal, compliance, and policy teams and will bring a wealth of experience and value to our Board,” said Kay Chopard, Executive Director at Kantara Initiative.

“Industry partners, like Proof, play an invaluable role in our efforts to engage with the identity industry. We are immensely grateful for this clear show of commitment for our work.”

“Kantara Initiative’s mission to help grow and fulfill the market for trusted identity aligns with Proof’s vision for an identity authorization network,” said Hunter. "I look forward to collaborating with Kantara Initiative leadership and the wider community to shape standards and assessment criteria that balance security, privacy, and user experience in an increasingly complex digital landscape."

These leadership appointments build on our ongoing relationship with the Kantara Initiative. In 2023, Proof’s eSign solution was awarded a Kantara Initiative Trust Mark for compliance with NIST 800-63 rev.3. This validated our Identity Assured eSignature solution at Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2), one of the highest levels of remote digital identity verification. The certification process was rigorous and is ongoing, demonstrating our commitment to the most secure identity verification practices in the industry.

"Kantara Initiative’s work directly impacts how organizations implement secure and privacy-respecting identity solutions," said Silberstein. "I'm excited to chair the IAWG and help advance frameworks that will enable trustworthy digital interactions across all sectors."

Proof remains committed to protecting life's most important digital transactions through advanced identity verification technology and active participation in shaping industry standards. We look forward to the positive impact our leadership within Kantara will have on the future of secure digital interactions.
